Your accommodation at the Ruhr
Upon arriving, take a minute to get your bearings. It’s a good idea to visit the Tourist Information office in the Media House. Here you can find free information, plans and useful tips. And then head to the cafe next door to refuel and make your plans for the day ahead.
With such a large selection of great museums to choose from, picking just one to visit can be difficult. Do you want some culture? Or would you prefer to learn about the region’s famous industry? Either way, you can’t go wrong.
After your museum trip, it’s time to enjoy some fresh air and a relaxing walk through the MüGa Park. The walk will take you past the Municipal hall, Broich Castle and Ringlokschuppen, plus the park is full of so many quiet, hidden spots that you’ll soon forget you’re in the middle of a big city.
How about a boat trip through the Ruhr Valley to Essen-Kettwig, where you can enjoy a stroll through the Old Town with ice cream and cake? Or, if you’re feeling energetic, take a rental bike and explore the ‘radrevier.ruhr’ around Mülheim or head off on the Ruhrperlen and the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route?Read more
