This small gem in the north of Mülheim was first mentioned in the year 1067. For a long time, Castle Styrum belonged to the counts of Limburg-Styrum. In 1890 it was sold to the most famous industrial pioneer of his time, August Thyssen.
Today the renovated rooms are available for festivities of all kinds, though it is especially popular as a wedding venue. The fabulous park around the castle is open to the public and the castle itself can be hired for private occasions.
